1xRTT
1xRTT is an identification citing to a working mode of CDMA2000, a wireless system used in CDMA mobile networks.1x in 1xRTT means one times the number of 1.25Mega Hertz channels, and RTT means radio transmission technology.
CDMA is a cellular digital radio technology that carries streams of .With this system all radios on the network channel can stay active at the same time. CDMA technology developed by wireless telecommunications research and development company Qualcomm is the origin of CDMA 1xRTT.
1xRTT is an edition of CDMA2000 that uses a pair of 1.25 Mega Hertz radio channels. To carry voice & data signals between mobile phones.1xRTT supports data transfer speed of up to 144 Kbps. As it offers very high speeds of data services along with voice capability, CDMA2000 1xRTT is considered a part of 3G mobile systems. But still it is slower than other 3G systems; hence it is sometimes called as second and half generation.
1xRTT has improved from its previous CDMA technologies. It gives up to twice the voice capability of second-generation mobile systems. 1xRTT is very much efficient as it utilized a pilot signal - a frequency carried for control, equalization, & reference reasons - also more channels among fixed mobile stations & cell phone users.1xRTT has a media & link access protocol, permitting greater use of data based services than in 2G systems.
CDMA2000 1x Evolution-Data Optimized or 1xEV-DO also referred to as EVDO is also part of CDMA2000. EVDO is an improved version of 1xRTT as it has greater data transfer rate capacity. Mobile operators use this for carrying data & videos which are not possible in 1xRTT.
