Bypass Rapidshare Megaupload Time Delay limits

All the file hosting websites uses annoying time delays to make the users upgrade the account. Now the problem is, these sites just overdo it by having very long time delays and if you move to some other tab and forget about the ticker for a moment, the whole download will reset and you again to go through the time delay.

Now through skipscreen firefox plugin you can avoid such time delays on all the big file sharing websites like Rapidshae, Megaupload, ZShare, DepositFiles, Linkbucks, MediaFire, Sharebee, DivShare. Just open the page in firefox and you won’t see any delay whatsoever.

New Yahoo Image Search Launched

Yahoo has launched new version of its yahoo Image Search with many added features, probably in the hope to gain some share of image search market where surprisingly google image is not doing that great, probably for the reason that its not in google’s priority list. Or may be these are just some design changes, its hard to say whether yahoo has made any algorithm changes and whether now yahoo image search gives better results then google search (I tried with couple of queries and I still find google image search giving better and more relevant search then yahoo search)

Some of the new features that are added in yahoo image search is more usage of ajax including query suggestion (drop down menu of suggested keywords related to your keywords) as well as slideshow of images.

IBM Not buying Sun Microsystems

The much awaited deal of USD $7 Billion between IBM and Sun Microsystems is not taking place as SUN has refused the revised offerings of IBM. As per reports of crunchgear, IBM was offering USD $9.40 (which is way higher then SUN’s current share values) but it seems their requirement of change in management along with removal of some senior employees didn’t went that well.

GMail Completes 5 Years

Gmail has completed its 5 year since the official launch of it on 1st of April, 2004. I remember getting mails from people asking for gmail invitation or having 50 gmail invitations. I also remember sites popping up giving free gmail invites.

I feels its an important milestone and worth writing about gmail for the reason that it has revolutionized email service. GMail was launched when millions of people were already using free email services like AOL, Hotmail and yahoo along with many small regional players and the fact that people were connecting with each other through these email providers and through the messengers and that they had hundreds of mails saved in their email boxes, Google’s task to push gmail was not easy!

How to Choose Best Domain Names

Back in college days, I used to be a domain freak wasting lot of money on buying domains and not doing anything with them. I think the most fun part was to choose the best domain name as I loved spending hours searching for what domain names available. Since back in college I had lot of spare time (I had pretty much stopped studying after second year) so it was alright but I am not sure now i will be spending hours looking for best domain names, the same can be said for most of the poeple.

Saying this, Domain names are very important for branding and you want to make sure its really good in terms of how it stands, look, written, pronounced etc.

Best Free Software to Clean History

If you are looking for a free software which cleans all browsing history, then you have to give a try to CCleaner which in my opinion is one of the best freeware available on net. CCleaner claims to have more then 260 million downloads (I am not sure its very accurate as it looks very high!) and is certainly one of the most installed and popular software.

If you have private or sensitive data which you don’t want others to look at, you may want to lock the folder in windows with Folder Lock software which locks the folder of your choice and it can only be opened with the password set by you.

Folder Lock is a very popular program (I am not surprised, as we all have our secrets!) as it has been downloaded over a million times just from download.com and if we include the main site download, the total downloads for folder lock can easily be in excess of 3 million!
