Convert Digital Edition books into Pdf files

I just purchased a book for $20 from lulu.com only to find that the book is not a regular pdf file (as promised by seller) but it is DRM protected pdf file which can only be open with Adobe Digital Edition software.

Nowdays all pdf’s purchased are in digital edition format, which means, instead of you getting a pdf file, you get an acsm file which has the encrypted information about the pdf. Now you need to download Adobe Digital Edition and install it and double click on that acsm file (or drag and drop to Digital Edition window) and the pdf file will be open in it.

Now Fill your PAN Card in Paypal Accounts - New Paypal Problem

It seems the problems with paypal for Indian users are not going away, paypal is now asking every user to fill their PAN card details along with phone number so now all your paypal earnings are linked to your PAN number and RBI and Income Tax department can track all the incoming and outgoing money.

This also means end of the “tax stealing” which many were doing by not disclosing their paypal earnings properly, and though I can see lot of people complaining about this, I think its a right decision and really people have no right to complain to RBI and IT department, as every one is paying taxes so freelancers should pay taxes too on whatever they are earning through paypal.

Paypal Account Limited Problem and How to Restore it ?

It seems from last few days, paypal has blocked thousands of Indian paypal accounts for almost no reason and with no explanation, the only reason I can see is when the transaction happened between two non verified or one verified/one non verified account, they block all the unverified accounts and now asking for more proof about the validity of transaction and documents to restore the account.

Making all accounts limited is very unprofessional but then we are talking about paypal here so it doesn’t surprises me. The problem with paypal is, it seems while trying to solve problem, they completely ignore their users.

In case you are not following the issue, paypal has updated their blog yesterday about the codes which all Indian paypal users have to fill now, you can check the post here which is self explanatory.

So from now on, while withdrawing money, we need to fill a code (thankfully, no Import export license as earlier I had thought), you can see all the codes either on thepaypalblog or at RBI’s site

Find all Rapidshare Links on a page and download them with single Click, NO Copy Paste

If you are looking to download a big file from Rapidshare of size 400 MB which is in parts of 50 MB each, you have to copy each link and paste in address bar to start the download, though the overall process is not that time consuming but if you are a regular downloader from rapidshare, this find-copy-paste thing can be really annoying.

Now here is a nice addon named RSLink (here is the plugin homepage though you should always download from mozilla’s site only) which removed the finding url, copy/paste process. Whenever you are on a page with rapidshare links, just click the R button at the bottom right side of firefox and it will show all the rapidshare links, select the links you want to download and click OK, all links will start getting downloaded.
