I am fairly sure google has introduced this some time back as techcrunch had reported this in October but this is the first time I am seeing google ads in image search. probably because I don’t uses google images much and because I have not put too many keywords which will trigger ads and probably because I uses ad blocker :p

But now it looks like google has started to push more of its properties to generate more revenue and google image is one of them. Its said that google images can generate revenue upto USD $200 Million every year to google so google have decided to monetize google images, probably too strongly. Here is how ads look in case you have never seen them -

the google ads in google search takes the prime location of heat map (people read in F format and the top position is where they look first, where google has put the ads). Personally I feels it would had been nice if they had introduced custom ads for google search.
