agrsmmsg.exe
agrsmmsg.exe is a Microsoft Windows operating system executable file and it is installed along with the SoftModem Assistant and it provides additional configuration options for these devices. Though the agrsmmsg.exe executable file is not an essential part of the Windows operating system and you would better disable this process on your system for saving your memory resources, it is essential for the onboard modem additional but not basic options, so if you are still counting on the dial up connection for your internet, keep this process running on your system.
To terminate the agrsmmsg.exe process from working on your computer, use the run command and find the msconfig, under the start up tab uncheck the agrsmmsg.exe process from running at the start up of your system.
The agrsmmsg.exe executable file location path is C:\Windows\system32\ agrsmmsg.exe, if it happens to find another instance of the agrsmmsg.exe executable file in your computer, then this has to be a virus, spyware, malware, worm or a Trojan attacking your system and it has to be scanned and omitted from your system permanently preventing your system from severe harms or hackers that can steal your personal information like your passwords or credit card number.
You can check how many instances of this process are running on your operating system by checking your task manager (you can get the task manager by stroking Alt+Ctrl+Del) and find the process under the processes tab.
Beside checking the location of your operating system files and making sure they are at the Windows directory and under the subfolder System32, always remember this quote: If a “non-Microsoft” .exe file is located in the C:\Windows or C:\Windows\System32 folder, then there is a high risk for a virus, spyware, and Trojan or worm infection!
Other than the viruses disguising in the form of the agrsmmsg.exe executable file and the unneeded consumption of memory and CPU, there is no harm out of running this process.
These viruses previously mentioned can use the same exact name of the Windows operating system executable files, like the agrsmmsg.exe executable file, or add a slight change to the file name as a sort of camouflage. You should remove those spy Trojans named after the agrsmmsg.exe executable file from your system immediately as in that case the agrsmmsg.exe process had become a security risk on your computer that has to be detected and deleted using a powerful antivirus like Norton or MacAfee.
