apoint.exe
apoint.exe is an executable file that is installed along with the drivers of the Alps Touchpad and it also allows part of the touchpad to be used for document or Web-page scrolling. The apoint.exe process should not be removed from your Windows operating system nor disabled so that to ensure that the laptop touchpad works properly but it is not essential at all for the operating system to work.
The apoint.exe process is installed recently with most brands of laptops for the touchpad drivers, if you tried disabling the apoint.exe executable file, you will notice the bad functionality of your touchpad, and you won’t be able to scroll nor more at any direction. So the apoint.exe executable file is only a complimentary process on your system, for your comfort.
The apoint.exe executable file location path is C:\Program Files\Apoint2K\Apoint.exe, if it happens to find another instance of the apoint.exe executable file in your computer, then this has to be a virus, spyware, malware, worm or a Trojan attacking your system and it has to be scanned and omitted from your system permanently preventing your system from severe harms or hackers that can steal your personal information like your passwords or credit card number.
You can check how many instances of this process are running on your operating system by checking your task manager (you can get the task manager by stroking Alt+Ctrl+Del) and find the apoint.exe process under the processes tab.
Other than the viruses disguising in the form of the apoint.exe executable file and the unneeded consumption of memory and CPU, there is no harm out of running this process. Some common error message concerning the apoint.exe process is the pop up: apoint.exe failed to load launcher dll, this error commonly occurs at the system start up and it’s usually cause is that the touch can’t load probably, to solve this problem; you can reinstall the touchpad driver once again.
These viruses previously mentioned can use the same exact name of the Windows operating system executable files, like the apoint.exe executable file, or add a slight change to the file name as a sort of camouflage. You should remove those spy Trojans named after the apoint.exe executable file from your system immediately as in that case the process had become a security risk on your computer that has to be detected and deleted using a powerful antivirus like Norton or MacAfee.
