Avoid Eye fatigue due to Computer Screen
If you are like me, who wears glasses and works all the time in front of computer, the chances are, after working for long hours, you must have started feeling eye fatigue, heaviness, redness and even water coming out from it. This happens if your eyes get too dry, specially if you are working on those age old CRT monitors (which you should have thrown out of window by now). LCD are very cheap nowadays and you should look to move on to them.
Anyway LCD or no LCD, for those who work in front of computer screen for a long time should follow few basic things to avoid eye fatigue. Often we overlook these simple things which can be really harmful in later time.

Positioning Monitor – Arrange your positing or the monitor in such a way that the gaze is little downward (around 20-25 degrees) from horizontal. Sit with a right posture – sit as much as straight as possible, keep your head straight and look downward at the monitor. Never place your monitor upward from your vision.
Blink Regularly – While working long, keep your eye blinking frequently. It will prevent your eyes from being dry. Dry eyes can cause eye strain, fatigue and sometime leads to headache. It is also not a bad idea to wash them in every few hours, this will also refresh you.
Relax – Sometime we require to work long in front of monitor. In such cases after each 20-25 minutes keep your eyes away from the computer screen and look a bit far distance for 20-30 seconds and then back to your work. This distance vision will give relax to your eye muscles. Always, remember to repeat this after each 15-20 minutes.
Use Eye drops – You can use good quality but preservative free eye drops to prevent dry eyes. Do consult physician for such eye drops which keeps your eyes wet.
Glass – If you are using glasses then be sure to use anti reflective coating on the lens. This anti reflective coating will prevent your eyes from glare and fatigue. Try to use best quality coating and initially you may feel uncomfortable, but gradually it will be normal.
Consult your eye doctor – If you are still experience eye fatigue, dryness and headache then you should consult your doctor as there may be something more to it then what it appears.
