Firefox to me is the best internet tool/software available for free right now. I know its a browser and is so IN in the mainstream that we guys really don’t care about it and gives it as much credit as it should get (do we have a firefox day yet? because I think we should)

Anyway my only problem with firefox was it getting crashed occasionally (I uses 3.x and it still crashes) or due to unclean shutdown or due to power failure, loss of all data, cookies or bookmarks in the past. I also work on couple of PC’s so sharing firefox settings as well as taking backups of firefox settings was always going to be difficult as I was taking manual backup of my whole firefox profile!

But last year I found this amazing tool, named Mozbackup which takes backup of firefox settings (including cookies, settings, bookmarks and all plugins) and gives you a file which you can take and install on any other PC (the other PC too should have mozbackup obviously to read the file) and the new PC will have same firefox settings as older PC. Be careful though as you will lose all previous firefox settings on new PC.

1. It takes Backup all your firefox Settings including bookmarks, passwords, settings, addons and even cookies.
2. You can password protect the mozbackup file which it outputs so even if someone get hold of it, he can’t get your firefox settings. This is very important for security as the last thing you want is to compromise all your saved passwords.
3. one click restoration - On new PC, u just need to make sure it has mozbackup and its one click restoration process will restore everything.
4. You can open the mozbackup file using any zip program and get the bookmarks or cookies file. This will come specialy handy in such kind of problems.
