Microsoft writer is wonderful desktop publishing software which is a part of windows live offering. This software is a WYSIWYG tool and it is compatible with many different types of blogging websites such as blogger, live journal, type pad, word press, community server, etc. This authoring tool is available in 48 different languages.

Windows writer supports hotmail, Gmail, yahoo, etc. If you have been familiar with blogger then you will find the same features in Windows live writer. Windows live writer has simple editing interface, provision for multiple blogs and an effective way of support for rich content.

To get started you can download the latest version from Microsoft downloads. After installing Microsoft writer you need to add your blogs, if you don’t have one you can have one with Microsoft live. For uploading pictures into your blog you can either use the FTP service of the writer or directly use the option of inserting pictures into the blog post. FTP hostname, username, password, URL of picture publishing folder. FTP information is required if you want to host pictures on FTP server.

Photo albums can be inserted into your blog post with the help of MS live writer. Click the arrow mark beside the blog post and then upload your photo album. In the tools menu of windows live writer you have the flexibility of changing different options such as Web proxy, ping servers, plug ins, Auto linking, spelling, Blog this feature, etc. You can add or edit your accounts by clicking on the accounts tab and then following general instructions.

For configuring web proxy you need to specify proxy server address, port number, username and password. These features help you to create one beautiful blog post on all the blogs at a time without any problem or hindrance. You can insert a map into your post by selecting the option insert and then selecting the option Map. After locating the location on the map you can then insert it into your post. This facility is provided by live search maps and not Google earth.

Underneath the blogs option you can edit your plug ins, mark up type, character set, etc.
