This is a very common problem with Blackberry when the color of display screen gets faded and the color either disappears or gets very dim, I am not sure what causes it but it seems it happens because of humidity i.e. moist air going under the screen which caused white spots on the screen and changes colors.

There is no easy solution for this unfortunately, if you have bought it from verizon/At&T or any other service provider, tell them to change it. For those people who are using unlocked blackberries like many in India, find nearby blackberry service cneter or find anyone who is selling the mobiles and ask them to change the display.

This has happened with me as one day suddenly, the orange default screen became pale yellow, I rebooted the mobile many times, took the batter our and again put it back and even changed the default theme and background image but nothing worked so had to taken it to blackberry repair service center to get it display changed.
