I owns a blackberry bold 9000 which I purchased last year, at the time it was the best blackberry model available for CDMA data push platform (Blackberry tour is different and doesn’t compete with bold 9000) and this year, blackberry has launched bold 9700, the next generation of Bold.

So here is a comparison of Bold 9000 vs Bold 9700 features and what will you get blackberry bold 9700 if you upgrade your phone

1. the pesky trackball is gone in 9700 and has been replaced with trackpad and people have said all good things about it which I can imagine as everyone was having problem with the trackball.

2. Blackberry bold 9700 is small and lean in shape and size as compared to 9000.

3. Bold 9700 has new blackberry 5 Operating system as compared to 9000 having old version 4 OS.

4. 9700 has bitter resolution, 480×360 as compared to 480×320, 9700 also seems to be show much cleared pictures, not that that this was a problem with 9000.

5. 9700 has 2 GB memory as compared to 1 GB memory

6. Battery life is 9700 is much better and more than 9000, again not that that 9000 had poor battery life to begin with.

7. Though I can’t confirm but it is said that the browser has improved drastically as it was the only weakness in blackberries as compared to iphones, but it is said that 9700 browser is almost compatible with safari.

8. The camera resolution has gone up from 2 mega pixels to 3.2 mega pixels,

Now this doesn’t mean that everythnig is all great about BB 9700, as I loved the bigger screen and keyborad of 9000

So my final verdict is, I don’t mind upgrading to 9700 if I had the money but I will stick with my bold 9000 as I have no problem with it, it is working great and I (and others too) should upgrade if they feel like that 9000 is not performing upto your requirement as having another phone in the market with better features doesn’t mean you should jump onto it.
