Esnips enables members to download the shared files stored on its servers. However, the uploader is given the option of denying permission to download the files. However, this restriction can easily be bypassed.

One option is to copy the URL of the page and paste the same as a word document and save the word document as an HTML document. Then, one should open the HTML document in the Firefox web browser or Internet Explorer. The web browser would then ask whether you wanted to save the file or run the file. You can then proceed to save the file on your hard disk despite the fact that no permission had been given.

Another complicated method involves the copying of the URL and making necessary changes in the same to convert the page into a downloadable one. Visit the page that you want to download and play the audio file. Copy the URL of the page to any text editing software. You will notice that the URL contains the word ‘doc’. Change the same to nsdoc. Do not change any other part of the URL. Now, remove name of the file in the URL and replace it with ‘ts_id/1205795172796/ns_flash/file1.mp3′

Copy the resulting URL into your web browser or download management software and press enter. Your web browser should ask whether you want to save the file to your hard disk. Accept and the file will be downloaded to your computer.

Of course, one always has the option of playing the file in the Internet Explorer and searching the temporary folder for the file which would have been downloaded to the computer during the playback. This is the simplest option but it does not work at all times as the file is not always downloaded to the hard disk before it is played.
