The thing about the MAC address is that it is unique for each Ethernet card and for each operating system. This mean that when you are looking into how to change MAC address codes you will need to think about the best ways to spoof your computer. One of the easier ways that you will find in how to change MAC address codes is to go to the “Start” button on your desktop. Here access the Control Panel. Once you have this dialog box up then you will need to find the and double click on the Network connections icon.

Once this new screen has opened you will need to look for the active network connection, with its network adapter before you proceed any further in learning how to change MAC address. Once you have located this icon you will need to right click it to get the dialog box which should have a list of commands including that of Properties. Click this button to get a further dialog box.

On this box you should have a number of different commands which will include the “General” tab. On this box you must click the tag named “Advanced”. When you look at this box you will see there are two segments. One segment has a box which is labeled Property.

On the value segment of the dialog box you will need to choose the value check-box and enter in the new MAC Address. The MAC address consists of 6 pairs of numbers from 0-9 and the characters A-F. An example of a Mac address would be 55-2A-88-7F-1D-60. When you are entering the new values of the MAC address you should not place any dashes between the numbers as was in the example.

Once all of these steps are done you will need to click the “Ok” button. In order to find out if you have changed the MAC address code you should test it out. You can do this by going to the command prompt and typing one of the following.
* ipconfig/all
* net config rdr

The final step that you will need to take in order to see if your have been successful in learning how to change MAC address codes is to reboot your computer and try logging onto the internet.
