We have seen many leaders over period of time, emerging with strong personality and power to impress people with their talks and thoughts. Although we believe that some people are born leaders with special characters, it is possible to develop these characteristics of a leader in ourselves. Before that, lets understand what characterizes a leader.

Few Characteristics of a leader

1.    Should be Trust worthy: One should have a clean image so as to win the trust and confidence of others. Learn to be honest and responsible for things. If people do not trust on us, we can never be their leader
2.    Should be active and enthusiastic: It is perhaps the best characteristics of a leader and almost all great leaders we can think about have had passion and dedication for their work. Do not be scared of hard work and set example for the team.
3.    Confidence is necessary: Unless we don’t have confidence within our selves, it is difficult to earn confidence of others. Be confident on whatever step you take, and people will start believing you.
4.    Be calm and smooth: There will be many situations where we might tend to lose temper or get emotional. Try to control all extremes and be calm over drastic situations. Others in the team always look for your reaction.
5.    Try to think analytically: Another good characteristic of a leader is to think quickly and analytically. Try to focus on the main gist and analyze the situation, keeping the wellness of others in mind.
6.    Be ordered in approach: Do not fluctuate in decisions and work. Try to maintain good order towards work and purpose. This gives team more confidence and positive thinking.
7.    Be ambitious: Do not settle at the second place and have the urge to go for the first. This is the thirst that characterizes a good leader. This not only gives a positive approach, it fills the team with confidence and willingness to work harder.
