I have covered this topic before on how to clean laptop screen and this article on how to clean computer screen is very much on the same line though computer screens are way different then laptop’s which are LCD. Old computer screens were of glass and are way easier to clean. You don’t need any special chemicals to clean the computer screen, though if you want, you can use the same pack which I had advised for laptop screen.

Here are some basic tips on how you can clean computer screen -

Clean CRT Screens – If you are using CRT, then follow instructions below.

• First of all switch off and unplug your monitor.
• Now, use anti static clean and soft cloth to wipe down dust from your screen.
• Next, you can spray very little amount of glass cleaning liquid (if you have any) on a fresh soft cloth. You can also use small amount of water on the cloth.
• Now rub that cloth on your monitor carefully and in one direction only.
• When you are done, dry the screen with a new dry cloth.
• Remember not to use any cleaning liquid directly on the screen.

Clean TFT or LCD Screens – You can clean your TFT screen as follows.

• First of all remember TFT or LCD screens are not glass like CRT monitors and be careful while cleaning. Never use any electronics or household glass cleaning spray.
• Switch off and unplug your monitor.
• Use lint free micro fiber cloths to wipe out the dust on screen. During this, never press or rub on the screen.
• Next, take another clean micro fiber cloth and spray small amount of clean water. You can also use little amount of vinegar with water if your screen is very dirty.
• Now with a very light touch use the cloth to clean the screen. Remember to wipe in vertical or horizontal direction.
• Now use a dry clean cloth (surely micro fiber) to dry out the surface.
