Prior to using ComboFix software it is best if you have the advice and help from trained computer technicians. This way if any serious problems seem to be developing then you will be in a position to halt the problem well before it is too late.

The first step to getting ComboFix onto your computer is for you to print out the installation instructions. This is because once you start to run the ComboFix program you will need to close all open windows and other working applications. After you have your installing instructions printed out you should look for a complete working form of ComboFix. When you start the downloading process you will be asked if you wish to save this the program. You should click on the Save button.

The next step that ComboFix will ask you about is the location that you desire to save this program. At this point make sure that you that you save the program directly to your desktop. To this query you should indicate that you want the program to run.

As soon as the ComboFix program starts running you will see a screen which will say that you need to wait as ComboFix is preparing to run. Once the program has finished running you will get another screen with the message showing the authorized locations where ComboFix can be downloaded. You will need to press the ok button before the program will proceed any further. After this authorization screen you will be shown a disclaimer screen. You will need to read this disclaimer and decide if you are going to agree and continue with the program or not agree and exit the program. If you agree to the disclaimer then ComboFix will create a system restore point in case any problems do develop.

In order to further protect your computer files ComboFix will backup all of the files that you have. The program will also look to see if you have a Windows Recovery Console installed and if this program is not there it will create the console for you. After all of these safety steps have been taken ComboFix will disconnect you from the internet while the software program is running. You should be alarmed as you will be reconnected once the ComboFix scan has been completed.

Since the program looks into all of the files, disks and programs on your PC the scan may take some time. As the scan is progressing ComboFix will provide you with an update on the progress. During this scanning time you may even see your desktop disappear and your clock settings changed. You should not worry or try to change any setting. As soon as ComboFix has finished with its program it will restore all of these settings.

Before ComboFix finishes its work you will get a message telling you that the scan is almost complete and where you will be able to find the log reports of the scan. At the end of the program you will get a log file report. If you have any questions or feel that your computer still has infections you can get help in a ComboFix forum.

The final step that you should do after running the ComboFix program is to check whether you have access to your internet. Once your internet and computer are back to working as before, you can proceed with work as usual. ComboFix is designed to fix and remove any malware and spyware that it detects. This means that you might need to run ComboFix more than once to protect your computer from these malicious programs.
