Cramps in early Pregnancy
Women experiencing cramps in early stages of pregnancy is a normal sign and there is absolutely no need to press the panic button. In fact we should be happy that the baby has shown signs of development and growing properly. It is a wrong notion that women might have periods on feeling cramps. Cramping is some indication of the baby starting to grow and exerting pressure on the uterus.
Some facts about Cramps in early pregnancy:
a) It is a normal indication and women can consult doctor in case of heavy pain. But the fact is that the uterus is trying to expand to make way for the baby.
b) If one experiences feeling of cramps associated with bleeding and fluid discharge, then we might approach the doctor. While if there are no discharges, there is no need to worry.
c) We should accept the cramps as signs of pregnancy, ignoring this might cause getting miscarriage.
d) Sometimes it happens that the hormones trigger the uterus to expand expecting the baby and happens to be likely after a sexual activity.
e) Cramps tend to happen when the egg implants into the uterus and this happens around six to eight days after process of fertilization.
Some ways to get relief of the cramps in early pregnancy:
a) The cramp and pain reduces to a great extent on applying heat into the lower abdomen. Although we should keep in mind and be very careful that the abdomen does not get heated up too much.
b) Some acetaminophen might help to reduce the pain.
c) Avoid taking NSAIDS during this stage. It is highly recommended to consult physician or Doctor before taking any kind of medication.
d) Taking rest and proper diet is very important as this process of hormonal change tends to slow down other digestion and bowel movement process.
e) Consume more water and fiber intake in diet as there are chances of constipation.
f) It is always better to avoid having sex during this stage, as it might aggravate the cramping condition.
