Create Custom RSS Feed from any Website using Dapper
Nowdays almost every website offer RSS feeds which you can subscribe for your rss feeder but many sites still don’t offer them due to content theft or they just don’t feel like offering it (many times its not even possible due to technicality)
Now you can create custom RSS feeds of any content available on any website using the service Dapper.net. Let me tell you how you can create an rss feed from any page using dapper.
How to create custom RSS feed using Dapper
1. First install Dapperfox plugin from here
2. Once you install and restart firefox, you should be able to see an icon like this in your address bar (if its like this, this means you can create a feed from the page or else you can’t)
3. Now chose any page of your choice whose custom feed you want to create. As an sample, I am taking this page Buzzle Health articles for demo. There is NO rss feed available for this page.
4. Now click on the dapper image in the address bar and it will open a dapper panel in new tab. Everything should be self explanatory from here. Ideally dapper wants you to create feed of multiple page but its your choice, for this demo, I have only chosen one page.
5. Dapper also has a demo video which you can see (it shows you while you creating the feed).
6. You can select which items you want to havve it on your feed. You can spent some time on it to see how things work.
7. In the end, it will ask you to create an account if you don’t have any and once you do it, your feed will be ready. Here is the feed url which I created from Buzzle Page. This feed should keep on updating as the buzzle page gets updated.
I haven’t used it extensively but it looks simple and good enough to give it a thumbs up. I am surely looking forward to use it more. If you have question about how to create feeds using dapper then you can drop your questions in the comments
