We all know and have used rapidshare and megaupload, two of the biggest file sharing sites on the Internet. Now building a similar web based file sharing site is not that difficult, specially with many open source script available for this.

So if you also want to build such file sharing site, you can look at uber uploader script. If I am correct most of the smaler file sharing sites are based on such sites, even sites which offer Mirror File Sharing and Hosting are also based on this script. You can install it on your windows localhost using xampp and test it yourself before installing it on live production site.

These file sharing sites can be an instant hit and can make good money if you can make sure your site don’t get abused or smaller set of people don’t use all the resources.
