Dish 1000

Dish 1000 is another satellite receiver model like Dish 300, Dish 500 from Dish Networks. Dish 1000 is much similar to Dish 500 but provides more HD programming. Dish 1000 can provide more HD programming due to the reason it picks up signals from three orbital locations 119°, 110° and 129°. The orbital location 129° has more HD programming channels as well as most of the local channels to broadcast.

Dish 1000 is a superior type of receiver to Dish 300 and Dish 500. Dish 100 has the same diameter as Dish 500 that is 20’’ and oval in shape. With the plan of introducing MPEG 4 compression techniques in future, Dish 1000 design is built in a way expecting to support around 1000 channels in the future.

Dish 1000 uses a Dish Pro plus Twin LNB (low noise block converter) called the DPP. It uses a single port LNB to receive from the 129° satellite and connects to the twin LNB ports which receive signals from both the locations 119° and 110°. There are upgrades to Dish 1000 available like Dish 1000.2 , Dish 1004.2. A typical Dish 1000 would look like the one in this picture.

Dish network suggests Dish 1000 to be peaked only for the 119° satellite though we could receive signals from all the three satellite locations. If we try to set the peak to 110° we might experience weak 129° signals and also if we try to peak to 129° we might experience weak signal from 110° satellites. As 119° location is in between 110° and 129° it is the best location to set the receivers peak.
