When we keep dogs, we become so used to them in every moment of a day. The attachment grows to such an extent that whenever it suffers even from minor problems, we tend to get hurt a lot. It is very important that we take care of them and give them proper medication in case of any health hazards.

Although dog vomit is normal and can be due to thousands of reasons, we should not simply ignore it and keep a watch on their activities. The gods tend to expulse excess food or fluid from stomach that caused them discomfort in any sense.

Why does a dog vomit?: There are many reasons starting simply from gastric problems to other diseases.

Here are some details about dog vomit
a)    The most common cause is identified as gastric problem.
b)    They are related to diet on most occasions and happen immediately after food.
c)    Overeating, eating rotten or spoiled food, food reaction or food poisoning.
d)    Development of ulcer in stomach
e)    Cancer in stomach, presence of foreign bodies that tend to obstruct food movement in intestines
f)    Hiatal hernia, infection
g)    Presence of worms.
h)    Intestinal cancer, Pancreatitis.
i)    Hepatitis
j)    Kidney failure, and Pyometra
k)    Hormonal deficiency.

Treatment recommended for Dog Vomit: Most of the times we can ignore the dog vomit, but incase the vomiting is frequent, there might be some problem with health. It is more of a symptom and not a disease.  Dogs of some breed are sensitive to food and have weak digestion system and we should take care of their diet. Here are some first aid things that we can do:

a)    Starve the dog for around a day and give plenty of water to drink. Water can work with miracles at times.
b)    After starving, offer some bland food like boiled rice or chicken. Give small amount of food to avoid over-eating.
Doing the above is sufficient most of times and eliminates vomiting. If the dog vomit continues even after this, try some medications as there are chances of ulcer of cancer. In this case, antacids of Metoclopromide should be helpful.
