Drupal Captcha do not work
I am using drupal captcha module on mwolk to prevent automated spam and here is a bad news, it doesn’t work to prevent bot spamming. I have over 200 spam comments in a day which now I am manually removing.
The problem with captcha modules and plugins is that, even if they are successful in sopping 99.99% bots and spam messages, the 0.01% can still make for the rest by spamming you like anything.
If you are also having problems with drupal spam comments then it is good time to try mollom which is created by drupal founder Dries, though mollom is not part of drupal. Smaller sites can use mollom for free to prevent bots spam but for big sites which get lot of traffic and spam, they need to buy mollom monthly service which costs $45 per month. I am using the free version of mollom and is more then satisfied with it.
