Scannig is a process of sending your hard copy document to a soft copy document which is a copy to be used only in computer. Some times you need to make some changes to your scanned document. The editing of a scanned document used to be a great problem for many persons. Mostly it is needed to edit a scanned document to make some desirable changes to that document for modified quries.

How to Edit Scanned Document

A scanned document can be edited in many different ways. Some the scanner’s driver software does provide that facility of editing your scanned document. We can also edit a scanned PDF document through Acrobat. The scanned document that you want to edit must be clean with no addition hand marks, pencil underlines or the hand written work in the document.

Remember hand written work cannot be edited because hand writing is not recognized by computer. Any way if your scanned document is not hand written then by using Acrobat you can convert your scanned document to an editable document.
Now in order to make your scanned document and editable document, you have to follow the following steps;

• Firstly open you scanned document in acrobat reader. Make sure that your scanned document is in PDF format and if it is not in PDF format, you need to convert it in PDF format using suitable “to pdf” converter first. Actully PDF file provide an ease in handling.
• Then Go to Document > OCR Text Recognition > Recognize Text. In this step the Acrobat will go through your entire scanned document and recognize all the text information on your scanned document.
• When the OCR menu appears then select all the pages of your scanned document which you want to make editable.
• Now click on edit and choose Formatted Text and Graphics form the PDF output menu.
• Now click ok and run the OCR process.
• Now finally to edit text, just go to the Tools menu and then advanced editing and choose the Touchup text tool.
• Now you can make changes to your scanned document according to your desire.
