Excessive head sweating

Excessive head sweating is often considered as a serious disease causing excessive sweating in the various body parts like head, under arms, hands or whole body. There are a large number of people who are suffering from this illness and they will be found always busy searching for the various techniques to resolve this problem. Some people wear multiple clothes in order to soak the sweat quickly, whereas others apply deodorants, medical creams, lotions or talcum powders to avoid excessive sweating and body odor.

Excessive head sweating may be caused because of Hyperhydrosis, a problem where an individual’s sweat glands become overactive leading to excessive sweating in different parts of the body and making people feel un-easy and depressed.

Causes and reasons of Excessive Head Sweating

• If a person is suffering from thyroid disorder he/ she are more likely to suffer from excessive head sweating. Thyroid glands produce hormones which are effectively used by the body but thyroid disorder develops little secretion of hormones creating problems like scanty hair growth, dry skin, sluggishness, extreme sweating, weight gain, excessive heart throbbing, bulging eyes and others.

• Another reason for excessive head sweating is because of genetically disorders or may be because of the side effects of some medicines such as antibiotics, and antidepressant drugs. Smoking, consuming spicy food, coffee, and stress are also some of the things causing too much sweating.

Treatment

In order to cure excessive head sweating it is suggested that one should avoid consuming strong antibiotics or antiperspirants containing aluminum chloride which leads to extreme sweating. Excess of creams and lotions should not be applied on face and body as it causes too much sweating and irritation especially below eyes, scalp nose and on neck. There are other medical treatments like botox injections used to heal Hyperhydrosis areas such as face, armpits, and feet but this treatment is not consider useful to cure scalp and neck sweating.

One can opt for surgical operations called Endoscopic Thoracic Sympathectomy (ETS) which have been proved useful for curing excessive head sweating. This operation is considered as relatively an uncomplicated way to get rid of this problem. This procedure involves incision of chest from where clamping of nerves is done which causes excessive sweating. This operation takes about an hour and patients are discharged on the very same day but they are required to be in touch with the doctor for next few weeks so as to get rid of this problem permanently.
