First Week Pregnancy Symptoms

The first week of pregnancy is usually considered as the most exciting and mystifying time of women’s life. During the first week an expecting mother experiences different emotions and feelings as having a baby is the biggest moment of her life. Throughout the first week development of fetus takes place which brings various changes in a woman’s body thereby, it is essential for her to consume healthy and nutritious diet. It is recommended that a woman should take necessary precautions to ensure proper growth and safety of an unborn baby. If a lady observes following symptoms she should immediately consult physician for advice and should keep a check on her daily diet and other physical activities.

First Week Pregnancy Symptoms:

Mentioned below are a few symptoms which a woman experiences in the first week of pregnancy:

Exhaustion and low blood pressure

Frequent urination

Nausea and stomach pain

Abdominal pain

When a woman experiences implantation bleeding that refers to bleeding inside the uterus where the egg is implanted.

Tenderness of Breasts

When a lady observes rapid mood swings like anxiety, joy, depression etc which are the result of changes in hormones.

Acidity, gas problem and constipation

Heartburn

Headache

Nausea

Missed menstrual period

Extreme fatigue

First week of pregnancy- Process

The first week of pregnancy involves two main procedures which are ovulation and fertilization. The process of fertilization and ovulation involves production of eggs from the ovaries. Then eggs get combined with the sperms inside the fallopian tubes of an expecting mother leading to the further production of zygote and embryo. Egg is then received by the uterus and it produces varying amount of estrogen and progesterone. When egg gets implanted it produces cilia which afterwards become placenta. Through this process development of fetus starts and it brings various changes in a woman’s body.

What to avoid during first week of pregnancy?

There are various herbs which a woman should devoid consuming especially during the first week such as Culinary herbs which include basil, oregano etc as they are not good for health of a pregnant woman. Other herbs such as Abortifacients and Anthraquinone laxatives stimulate uterus which might lead to miscarriage. Emmenagogues regulate and promote menstruation and therefore, it should be avoided during the first week of pregnancy.

It is suggested that a woman should avoid consuming alcohol, spicy and junk food, because it is considered unhealthy for an expecting mother and an unborn baby. Pregnant ladies should take advice from physicians regarding a proper diet chart, medicines and physical exercises.

Important Note:

It is important to note that first week of pregnancy is the most crucial time period which involves greater number of risks. So it is necessary that if a woman experiences symptoms mentioned above she should immediately contact physician for check up. Most of the ladies are unaware of symptoms of first week of pregnancy which might increases the risk of loosing an unborn baby.
