How does LCD and Plasma TV Works
I have wrote few reviews on our reviews blog about LCD TVs and Plasma TVs and felt to write about LCD TV and Plasma TV on this blog.
Initially LCD TV were not in bigger size and were fairly costly but now in terms of screen sizes and prices, both LCD and Plasma TVs compete with each other.
How does Plasma TV Works ?
Plasma TV have millions of matrix (pixels) glass cells which are filled with xeon and neon and at the back, they have a phosphorous screen. When the matrix of cells are charged, they emit ultraviolet light which falls on the phosphors which are red, blue and green in color and this how the images are created. Its hard for me to give full technical details but you can read more about them at plasma tv wiki page.
How does LCD Works ?
in Liquid Crystal Display TV, there are 2 transparent panels with liquid crystals in them. When electricity passes through them, they align themselves in such that they either allow light (which comes from the back) to pass through them or do not pass through them, effectively its a set of millions of tiny light sources, in ON and OFF positions making up the image.
To get exact details about LCD TV, you can check the wiki page of LCD TV.
So as you can see, they both, though look same have total different technology behind them.
