How to add subdomain A Record into Godaddy ?

If your domain is hosted at godaddy rather then on your host, you have to add the A name record everytime you add a subdomain on your site. Though adding new A record in godaddy is very easy, it can still cause confusion for first timers due to messy interface of godaddy. So here is step by step to add sub domain to your godaddy account -

1. Login into your godaddy account and go to Domain manager and click on your domain in which you want to add a subdomain

2. On the domain page, you should be able to see Total DNS control (make sure your domain is indeed hosted on godaddy), click on the link “total dns control

3. You should see a control panel like above. Click on “Add new A Record” button which is at the top right side of the screen. A pop up with come, under Hostname, fill the name of the subdomain, in my case it was “blog”, under IP,fill the IP of the domain (most often the IP of domain and subdomain are same) and click OK (no need to change default TTL setting)

4. That’s it. give it few mins for settings to propagate and take effect. Now your subdomain should be live
