How to build a Digg like Site ?
If you are looking to build a Digg like website and have no experience of programming, then no need to get disappoint because using a CMS named Pligg, you can build exact digg clones.
I had used pligg back in 2006 just for fun and back then it wasn’t that good, but now in 2009 when I checked it, it has come a long way. It has tons of features and addons (including paid once) which takes your site very close to be a digg clone in terms of looks.
How to build a Digg like Site ?
It won’t take you more then 10 minutes do build a digg like site using pligg if you have a domain and hosting. If you don’t, you can buy a domain from godaddy.com and hosting from godaddy or from any other host too. Check Webhostingtalk.com to search for best hosts.
So once you get the domain and hosting ready, just download Pligg from here. It has a readme file which will explain you everything but the installation is pretty standard. You will be required to create a database and have to upload the files on server and you will get your digg like site.
As expected, the site will just look like digg like but will have various featuers lacking, still I think pligg is currently the best ready made solution to build instant digg like website.
You can also use CMS like drupal, wordpress and joomla to build digg clones but they don’t look that finished as pligg. The best thing about pligg is its community and userbase.

Is there any other way too using which I can build digg like site ?
2admin on Mar 9, 2009 :
Anglic, you can build digg like site using Drigg too, check http://www.drigg-code.org/
Drigg is built on drupal and extends it. I had used it last year and was very impressed with it. The only problem is,support and lack of community so you may have to hire some coder to do jobs for you if you yourself aren’t a programmer.
