How to Mount ISO File On A Virtual Drive In Windows

Virtual CloneDrive is an excellent software application to add virtual drives to your system. You can multiply the number of CD ROMs on your system by creating virtual drives. This software is essential for all Windows users because Windows, unlike Mac or Ubuntu, does not support virtual drives by default.
This software can be downloaded over the net and installed into your system. Installation will lead to creation of a BD ROM drive. This is the virtual drive. Right click the drive to access the Virtual CloneDrive option. You can mount and unmount ISO files by simply selecting the ISO file. The software will automatically mount the ISO in the virtual drive and you can use the file as if it were a CD in your CD ROM.
This option will not work if you do not have administrator privileges in your computer. In such scenario, you must opt for the MS Virtual CD-ROM Control Panel. The zip file will contain VcdControlTool.exe, VCdRom.sys and the readme file. Use My Computer or Windows Explorer to go to the Drivers folder in the System folder placed in your default Windows directory and copy the .sys file into the folder. Open the exe file and select the install driver option in the Driver control option of the Control Panel. Lead the software to the sys file that you had copied earlier to your default Windows Directory.
Once the driver is installed, click on ‘Add Drive’ option. You will now see a virtual driver in the control panel with a message that no image has been mounted on it. You have to mount the ISO file just as you did with the previous software application. Once the file is mounted, it will be available from your Windows Explorer.
You just need to unmount the ISO file, stop the driver and remove the same once you are done.
