How to put music on a PSP

A PSP is an abbreviated for of Sony playstation portable that has been a unique product versatile with its applications as well as with its functional approach. It has taken the perception of portable games into new heights with its usability features that are friendly and giving a real life experience. Its creativity reflects in its concept of multi function console where it appears not just a playstation, but also serves as a movie player, video player, personal organizer, music player, web browser and many more. It provides a complete package and hits heavily on those who regarded it for just a portable playstation.

However, putting music on a PSP is not as easy as it looks. To learn how to put music on a PSP, here are some steps and facts that will help you:

a) It can be treated similar to a walkman and becomes easy once you learn how to put music on a PSP.

b) The PSP accepts almost all formats of music files and is compatible. But it depends on the version of firmware that is loaded in the PSP. The latest versions are compatible with WMA, WMV and mp3 audio files.

c) It is recommended that you convert the WMV audio files to mp3 format so that they consume less space on the disk. There are many converters available on the internet and most of them are freeware. It is better if you convert all formats to mp3 audio file so that you are able to store more number of songs into the PSP.

d) After converting, they can be easily put into the PSP. Connect the PSP to the computer using the cable provided.

e) Click on HOME and scroll down to SETTINGS by clicking on left/right buttons. Search for the device on the computer and press X.

f) Open the removable drive. You should find a folder called PSP. Open that folder and you should see “Music” folder in it.

g) If it is not appearing, you can always create it.

h) Now is the best part of how to put music on a PSP. All you have to do is to drag the mp3 files into the folder. Else you can copy the files at once and paste them in this folder.

i) After finishing, click on ‘O’ button PSP console. This should disconnect the PSP and you can now disconnect it.

That’s all and you have learned how to put music on a PSP. However, make sure that you do not disconnect the cable while the transfer is in process.
