How to Scan Photographs
Scanning is process in which you can send some graphical set of information to computer. In simple words if the printer brings out your document or photograph in printed form then a scanner can put your printed document or photo to your computer. If you are new to scanning and wondering how to scan photographs, here is a guide which provides you a step-by-step process for scanning a flat color photograph by using a standard scanner device (here we have EPSON scanner). However, the first step is configure your scanner settings.
Now, simply you have to let the scanner to finish scanning.
Now you have to turn it to “Manual mode” by choosing the option of Manual mode.
Now you need to put the following resolution setting in the window appeared.
After that set 300 dpi resolution form the resolution panel.
300dpi resolution setting is best of standard quality san. This would be very helpful when you need some kind of editing in your scanned picture and is also suitable for its use on web.
Now you have to define your scan. To do that just select to photo scan, if you are going to scan a photograph.
Selecting Color Photo option is suitable for all kind of images. If you are dealing with black and white image, you need to select black and white option.
Kindly make sure that scale must be set to 100 percent.
You must preview your image before going to press the scan button. In this way the scanner lets you to do a view the image and have a look at the orientation and scale of your image. For that you need to click on Click Preview
Then scanner will scan your photograph and show you it preview in the preview windows (it will automatically opened)
Now here you need to set the scanning area.
Remember only that part will be scanned which is In the premises of selection marquee box.
After all done just press on scan button and the scanning will start.
After when your scanner finish scanning just Save your file. Further, if you want to change your photo settings and brightness ratio, you can use Adobe Photoshop.

I’ve got better results when I scan at high resolution, for example 720 or higher and the resize my images.
