There are many softwares which can be used to split videos, many of them are free, many of them are paid which offers many more features other then video splitting.

So here is the list of ways you can split videos

1. This is the most easiest one, using Windows Movie Maker. you can split videos supported by windows movie player. On Vista/windows 7, in the start box, type
“Movie maker” to find the application and click on it to open windows movie maker (on XP, it is under applications). Open any video in windows movie maker and click on the split button (on lower right corner) to split the video.

2. Virtualdub is an excellent free software for video splitting. Just play the video and click on start video split and end video split buttons as shown below.

3. Easy Video Splitter is another excellent free software for video splitting. It is very basic and does what its name suggest, video splitting. You can download it from here. You can also download it from the original site here

4. I haven’t used it but have seen people using Boilsoft Video Splitter too, it is light weight software and works very well for splitting all kind of avi, wmv,asf videos.

5. I use Videocharge for all my video editing and splitting work, it is paid software but I feels, once you get hang of it, it can be really useful and instead of installing 4 different software to split, join, watermark, encode etc, why not just use one software ?

6. AviSplit is another software for video splitting but it only supports avi files. You can test it and tell me how it worked.
