IBM Not buying Sun Microsystems
The much awaited deal of USD $7 Billion between IBM and Sun Microsystems is not taking place as SUN has refused the revised offerings of IBM. As per reports of crunchgear, IBM was offering USD $9.40 (which is way higher then SUN’s current share values) but it seems their requirement of change in management along with removal of some senior employees didn’t went that well.
Its amazing how in these tough economic times, companies are finding difficult to get in level terms of understanding as everyone wants to play safe and squieeze everything possible, which eventually cause the failure of the deal, hurting one and sometimes both parties (like in yahoo Microsoft case).
You can get more information about the failure of the deal through this NewYorkTimes articles.

How big is SUn anyway ? I feels 7 billion was very less for a company like Sun. too bad another big deal failed, sometimes I wonder are all this done by insiders to boost stock prices so they buy at less, sell them at high ?

IBM was offering higher price then the current listed price of sun so I don’t see SUn being undervalued here.
