Many times when you change your host (or server) your wordpress blog stops showing uploaded images i.e. when you upload an image you see a red cross like above, this happens because the upload image path is set incorrectly.

This is very common problem with wordpress blog specially when you uses absolute paths (/home/xxxx/public_html/blog/wp-content/uploads) rather than relative paths (wp-content/uploads) under Miscellaneous Settings section of your wordpress blog.

And even after setting the correct path, images in your wordpress blogs are not getting shown, than most likely it is permission problem. Check what directory permission your uploads folder has ? on some hosts, 755 work but otherwise you need to keep the directory permission for uploads folder as 777.

Also check if the owner of some folder is not some other user, the chances of it happening are less but manytimes by mistake people transfer files from one host to other host using root account which messes up all ownership permissions.
