Carry Linux in your USB Drive and Boot Instantly
Here I would like to introduce you with a very interesting and innovative version of Linux which is called Damn Small Linux. You can install it directly on your portable USB drive or CD. May be you are thinking that it will eat up your disk space, don’t worry it will take just less than 50MB space on your drive.

This tiny version of Linux can easily run under Windows and even without restarting your system. It’s quite useful if you are working in a cybercafe or on your friend’s PC. Just plugin your USB drive and boot it, then do your work, make necessary backup and shut it down.
Damn Small Linux comes with following features -
1> You can boot from CD similarly like Live Linux CD
2> You can also boot from your USB pen drive
3> Damn Small Linux can boot within the host operating system, no problem if the host OS is Windows.
4> If you install Damn Small Linux on normal hard disk, it will install as a Debian OS.
5> It will run fully from RAM and requires 128 MB of RAM
Like normal Linux, you will get a fully functional desktop where you can do you general works like wordprocessing, playing music, internet, sending & receiving emails, IM and many more.
Installinng Damn Small Linux on your Pen drive is not quite difficult. Just download Damn Small Linux and extract it to your fully formatted Pen drive. Then you need to Install SysLinux which is a standard boot loader for FAT file system. You can donwload SysLinux here.
