List of Desktop Clients for Twitter
If you are looking for desktop clients to use twitter instead of its web interface, there are plenty of options available. Here is my list of twitter desktop clients -
TweetDeck is a free and easy to use desktop client that helps you to manage your Twitter account and also has support for Facebook in addition. It has support for PC, MAC and Linux.
It’s also a strong desktop client for Twitter. With Tweetr you can send and reply messages, share and upload files and many more. Tweetr comes with both PC and MAC version.
Snitter is another Twitter desktop client with loads of features. Snitter gives you the freedom to change its interface by editing simple CSS codes. It comes with support for PC and MAC also on the way to introduce the Linux version which is in Alpha stage.
With twhirl you can connect to multiple Twitter accounts, laconi.ca, Friendfeed and Seesmic accounts as well with an inbuilt spell checker. You can also upload images to TwitPic with this tool. twhirl also has support for PC and MAC both.
All of above mentioned desktop clients require Adobe Air Runtime to install which you can download from here. Judging by the way thing happen around twitter, the chances are many more desktop based software will be launched so I will try to update this list as much as I can. If I missed some twitter client, please mention it in comments.

I know a lot of people tweet and post blurbs about what’s going on with them but is there really an audience?
Apart from very close friends and family (who also tweet), I’m left to wonder who reads all those tweets flying around the web? Maybe it’s just me… I know Twitter is big in the news but I’m still wondering how to use it for business.

it’s not a twitter client but more of a twitter tool but if you want a desktop tool for auto follow then check out http://www.MyTwitterButler.com for $10 it’s a windows .net application that run directly on your pc instead of in the cloud.
It does two things;
1/ Auto Follows Users with up to 4 search terms per twitter account (allows multiple accoutns - I run mine with 11 accounts simultaneously but it slows it down).
2/ Direct Message Broadcast - you can send a direct message to all you users with just one click.
Cheers,
Dean
