Yahoo Zimbra Desktop is an open source client for email, group calendar, contacts, instant messaging, file storage and web document management. Zimbra Desktop has support for Windows, Mac OS X and Linux. It can be synchronized with smart phones like iPhone, Black Berry and desktop emailing clients like Outlook, Thunderbird. Also Zimbra Desktop works both online and offline with any POP and IMAP email accounts and with Yahoo Mail as well.

With Yahoo Zimbra Desktop you can manage multiple email account on a single interface. Apart from email it also has support for calendar services, tasks, documents and many more on a single package. Like other email client (outlook, thunderbird) you can download all your emails and can browse through those anytime. Zimbra Desktop supports any POP and IMAP email with Yahoo Mail, GMail, Hotmail, Live Mail, AOL Mail and additionally Google Calendar, and Hotmail address book can also be integrated.

It is a very easy to use and configure and the interface would be very easy for existing Outlook or Thunderbird users. To add a new account, just select the account type and provide generic information like Name, Email ID, Password etc. You can schedule mail checking, calendar and contact after a fixed period of time under the synchronizing setting. Zimbra Desktop supports as many as 20 languages. As a whole, Zimbra Desktop can be said as a better and enhanced replacement for Outlook and Thunderbird.
