Megaupload after rapidshare is the second biggest file sharing website and needless to say is often get blocked by system admins and ISPs of colleges, schools and offices. Since students often download warez and adult content and in offices, employees may upload confidential information and data to megaupload, its understandable that such sites are blocked. But sometimes it becomes very important to access these sites and for such time, you need a web proxy.

Since most of the networks block all the ports, you can’t use Tor and such softwares to changed proxies, so you have to reply on web based proxies. Now for Megaupload, I can see many megaupload proxies sites in the proxy list of mwolk, I don’t know how many of them really support it though. The last time I had checked with rapidshare, almost 80% of the proxy sites were supporting it so we can assume they will also support megaupload.

The problem with proxies for supporting all the file sharing sites like rapidshare and megaupload is that they need lot of bandwidth and resources, on average if a user is downloading 1 file of 50 MB, 2000 users daily can make up total bandwidth usage to be 100 GB/day. Now running such proxies can easily cost in the range of USD $500/month and the chances of recovering the money just through ads is not very high since most of such traffic comes from china and gulf countries for which advertisers do not pay much.

As far as I know most of the proxies owners keep upload/download limit of 5 MB so even if their proxy sites supports megaupload and rapidshare, you can only download at max 5 MB file from that megaupload proxies.
