Microsoft will keep Supporting Windows XP

With all the buzz around Windows 7, Microsoft has said that they will keep on supporting their 8 year old operating system Windows XP and will give option for downgrade from Windows 7 to Windows XP to consumers.

Not only this, the new version of Microsoft Office will also support Windows XP. It seems that Microsoft do not want to take any chances for windows 7 in case the earlier response is not that favorable, like in Vistas case. The problem is, Windows XP still has a huge user base and making non techie people to move to new operating system is never that easy, specially when they are very much comfortable with their older operating system. The last dates of this extended support to windows XP are still not clear but most likely it will be till summer of 2010.

Smrt move by Microsoft, Windows XP was in use for 7 years and is installed on millions of PCs, people won’t leave it immediately, give them option and let them chose on their own.
