When it comes to search, MSN Live Search do not come even close to Google and yahoo search but one thing which can make it popular among bloggers is its very fast updated search index and high weightage towards new blog posts. Infact I have seen almost all newly posted blog posts getting onto first page and even getting top ranking in matter of minutes to few hours. This is even faster then Google which takes few hours atleast to rank blog posts.

It is well known fact that google works on hotness of a post and likes to show fresh results as much as possible, it seems MSN is also following the same path as its index gets updated very fast showing fresh blog posts immediately at the top. Yahoo on the other hand is lacking behind in this and it seems yahoo algorithm do not give lot of weightage to degree of hotness and fresshness of blog posts and news items. If yahoo and Microsoft deal don’t happen, then there are good chances of MSN live taking over yahoo search engine.
