NDTV today changed its website design to much better looking one as well as they have moved to search engine friendly urls.

NDTV though being India’s Premiere news channel had a very bad website design which was hard to navigate, filled with ads and unrelated links and was broken with very high percentage of downtime so this change in design was expected. Also its competitors like In.Com are also pushing their news heavily (infact in terms of traffic, they must have overtaken NDTV and IndiaTimes) so its good that NDTV has decided to get in the race.

The newer design looks much cleaner and soothing to eyes, the font size and color combination is good and they have got rid of all those ads which were occupying 30% of the site. They have also changed your url format to search engine friendly once which will help the site getting more traffic.

Though the site can still be improved further as I see lot of blank space on it which can be filled with more content but still its nice to see another Indian news site looking to make it better for Indian web crowd, hoping to see The Hindu making changes in its site too very soon.
