Nodular melanoma
Nodular melanoma is considered as the most aggressive type of melanoma. Melanoma can be best described as tumor that is found in the skin, eyes and the bowels. It can also be recognized as skin cancer that is responsible for stimulating the production of melanin that is the dark pigment. Despite such improvements in the field of medical science, the exact cause and remedy for this cancer is not clear. As far as nodular melanoma is concerned, they grow in the vertical direction, starting from the outset and tend to grow very fast. They are known to have no precursors and it keeps growing resulting in bleeding. They are also fatal and in most cases doctors are not able to diagnose it in the early stages.
About nodular melanoma: The nodular melanoma is indeed a serious form of cancer and attacks the legs, arms and the upper torso portion. They are basically of two types; that are the thick and the thin melanoma. There is remarkable difference between them. While the thin melanomas tend to spread out on the skin surface, the thick melanomas are more penetrative in nature and grow deep into the skin. It is important that we should be aware of the skin cancer diseases, have knowledge regarding their symptoms and should know what we need to do in case of Nodular melanoma.
Let’s have a look as to what factors are responsible for nodular melanoma:
a) Too much of radiation. If you happen to expose yourself to excessive sunlight, it might end up with nodular melanoma.
b) Those areas that do not get much exposure to sunlight or fresh air are vulnerable to this cancer. The vulva or the sole of foot are mainly responsible for this.
c) Excessive amounts of ultra violet rays can damage the skin.
d) Tanning beds are also known to be responsible to an extent.
To recognize them, here are some symptoms of nodular melanoma that you should be aware of:
a) They might be Dark brown, red or blue bump
b) They also characterize tender, itchy and dome-shaped bump
c) In many occasions, they have been reported to be shiny, scaly, black skin or swollen bump.
d) The black bumps tend to ooze and bleed profusely.
e) Asymptomatic during the early stages
If you have any such kind of symptoms, it is always recommended to approach the doctor and get yourself diagnosed. Better late than never.
