It seems the problems with paypal for Indian users are not going away, paypal is now asking every user to fill their PAN card details along with phone number so now all your paypal earnings are linked to your PAN number and RBI and Income Tax department can track all the incoming and outgoing money.

This also means end of the “tax stealing” which many were doing by not disclosing their paypal earnings properly, and though I can see lot of people complaining about this, I think its a right decision and really people have no right to complain to RBI and IT department, as every one is paying taxes so freelancers should pay taxes too on whatever they are earning through paypal.

The problem is, and as expected, paypal again failed to implement this feature properly and more importantly failed to inform its Indian users, today I opened my paypal account to see they are asking for PAN card, and luckily it accepted my pan card (it is personal) but those who are running their companies and have multiple cards are surely going to have problems as It seems those cards are getting rejected.

I hope this should be the last of the antics from paypal as now RBI and IT department can track all the transactions, something which they were trying to do. So the free lunch and ride for us freelancers are over
