Phone dropped in Water
This article i am writing from my personal experience when I had dropped my first cell phone in water, only to realize that its gone forever, somehow the damage of fall and water made it useless, luckily it wasn’t a costly mobile phone but the chances are, if it happens to you, the phone may not be that cheap.
It is really painful to see your cell phone is dropped in water when all contact info is there in it. But, if you follow these tips after getting back your phone from water, you can save it and restore in working condition.
- The first thing is to remove the battery as soon as you can. Doesn’t matter whether it is switched on or off. Removing the battery will protect your phone from short circuit.
- Now use any dry cloth or toilet paper to soak the outside water.
- Next, it is quite important to dry your phone as much as possible. So, uncover the phone as much as you can and dry it with your hair dryer or simply leave it under the sun light or table fan.
- If you are using hair dryer, then first of all dry main parts like the battery panel, LCD screen, keypad area.
- Now you can spray some alcohol on a clean cloth and rub it on the internal parts of your phone. Alcohol will absorb the moisture from your phone.
- Never attach the battery even you can’t see any moister. I’m sure that still there is some invisible moister on your phone.
- Leave it for day long and if possible under sunlight or direct air. Then you can attach the battery when you are 100% sure that there is no moister.
- Above steps can recover your phone in most cases. But if you are still unable to start your phone (in case it was long time under water) then try to visit your local mobile phone repairing shop.
I hope these cell phone/mobile saving tips will help you to minimize the damage the next time your drop you cell in water.
