Papers are the most important part of most of our business’s printing process. Paper are made up to wood and its residue. Using controlled condtion processes special kind of papers can be made. The size of paper is another important factor of paper industry. Today paper has been using through all over the World. Therefore, its global usage attracts the attention of all the paper industry owners to make their papers of some specific sizes. ISO has made some standard for paper industry so that they can easily be used globaly. Papers that we used for the printing purpose have different standards in sizes like ISO A4 are widely used over the World. The height over width ratio of all the kind of pages is the squre root of 2 in the ISO paper size system. This formutation of page sizes is convenient for international use of papers sizes. The ISO paper sizes are based on the metric system and the square root of two formula used for papers do not permit both the width and the height to be very nicely rounded metric lengths.

ISO 216 defines the A series of paper sizes based on these simple principles:
• The height divided by the width of all formats is the square root of two (1.4142).
• The A0 page size has the area of 1 square meter.
• The A1 size is half the A0 paper size.
• Smaller A size papers are defined in the same way. These format follow the formula A(n+1).
• The height over width of the paper formats is standerdized by the some rounded numbers of millimeters.
Where the ISO A series provide an insufficient format then B series is used which has been introduced to cover a wider range of paper sizes. The C serives papaers are termed as envelop paper.
• B and C paper sizes are the square root of 2.

Envelope Formats
The most widely used business letter format envelop sizes are DL sizes. DL stands for “DIN Lang” historically but diplomatically as “Dimension Langthwise”. The DIN 678 has introduced the C6 and the C5 paper formats. Following are the envelope formats:
