It seems twitter is taking all the limelight and all the public attention, whether it is good or bad. With all the fuss about Ashton Kutcher and CNN and how Oprah is also talking about twitter, the fundamental problems of twitter which it is facing since 2007 are still there and infact growing.

Check Twitter blog and you will see what I am talking about. Some of the problems twitter is facing are -

1. Delayed Search Results - Search results are not working properly and delayed results are shown. This certainly seems to be scalability problem as probably twitter is growing way too fast and they are having all kind of problems keeping the core functionality working.

2. Messages got deleted - Many people are reporting that there tweeter messages got deleted randomly. Tweeter is still not able to fixed this problem. By the way, you can recover deleted tweeter messages through this service too.

3. Duplicate SMS messagess - some people have been reported that they are getting duplicate tweets messages on their mobile as SMS alert. After temporarily stopping the service, it seems the problem has been solved.

4. They are again facing high load time and error rates which were synonymous back 2006-07.

I am not a power user of twitter so I haven’t seen all these problems but uptime of even 99% is very bad for services like twitter and with all these daily problems, twitter better get its problems solved fast as on the web, things changes very fast,
