Puppy Worms

Puppy worms are a normal phenomenon but can sometimes cause bad health to them. The problem of worms can be irritating and nasty. These worms are small parasites that reside in the puppy stomach or moreover in the digestive system and can cause damage to the organs of digestion and the heart also. In most of the cases, puppies are born with worms, while in some cases, these are transmitted from others. These worms often cause vomiting and other problems like anemia if not treated at the right time.  However it is important that these worms should not be ignored and should be cured at the earliest. For identifying the puppy worms, here are some descriptions:

Roundworms: they are referred to be the most common type of worms and transmitted from one to other. They spread through the feces and can infect the dog dangerously. The roundworms can cause puppy to become thin, distended, dull inactive and out of condition. The symptoms for roundworms are frequent vomiting, cough and diarrhea. It can be avoided by keeping the puppy clean and hygienic.

Tapeworms: Fleas are responsible for transmission of these puppy worms. They appear like rice grains and are quite dangerous. They can even get transmitted to human beings, mostly children and it is important that proper hygiene is maintained to ensure that it does not get spread to others.

Whipworms: these puppy worms are common and cannot be identified easily. It happens to infect the puppy if they come in contact with feces or eat contaminated soil.

Hookworms: these puppy worms are perhaps the most common and even equally dangerous. These are also transmitted through feces and thrive in warm soil. It is also possible that these worms get into human beings who come in contact with the pets. It can be dangerous and might result in pneumonia, diarrhea, anemia and end up drastic situations.

Heartworms: these puppy worms are harmful for the heart and the most fatal of all. These are transmitted by the mosquitoes and it is difficult to detect them. It is recommended that these puppy worms are not ignored and they be diagnosed immediately.

If you come across to discover that your pet is suffering from any kind of ailment, it is important that they be diagnosed immediately. Ignoring this might result in infection of children and other pets who come in contact with them.
