Many people have reported that their rapidshare accounts are getting closed or have got closed for no reasons hence losing tens of thousands of rapidshare points which they had accumelated in months.

its kind of ironical and farcical actually but here is the full story.

Rapidshare closes your rapidshare account mostly for the reason of uploading copyrighted files. Now we can bet 99% content on rapidshare is copyrighted as its full with movies, songs, ebooks etc and rapidshare itself knows that its full of such content. They can easily block/remove such accounts in the beginning but instead they allow the person to keep uploading content and otherss to download it but once such accounts grows huge, they just delete them and the original uploader loses all its points.

I think this is balancing effect as rapidshare offers incentives and prices if you crosses 10k, 20k or 50k rapidshare point limits. Its a strong statement but I think its understandable. Its a fine balance for rapidshare which they need to manage.

What can you do if your Rapidshare account gets closed ?

Well honestly not much. You can mail them or talk to them on phone but whatever I have seen, none of it works. Once account getting closed means you have to start afresh. In the coming posts, I will write a post on how you can stop your rapidshare account getting closed.
