I have removed wordpress Search and have moved to Adsense for Search as I felt using Google search gives far better results and since adsense is integrated with Adsense for Search, it may make some extra revenue.

Here are some reasons why you should remove wordpress search and start using Adsense for Search

1. Better Results - if you have a huge blog with thousands of posts and comments, Google search is often reported to give far better results then wordpress Search. Wordpress Search shows results according to date of posts which means newer posts are shown first and older once later irrespective of relevancy and this can be a real problem for a 2-3 year old blog with lot of posts.

2. Open links in new Pages - With Adsense for Search, you can do lot of tweaking like making searched results to open in new pages or tabs.

3. Get to show more then one website results - if you have more then one blog or site, you can include the pages of both sites to be shown as search results, effectively cross linking your sites making the users go from one to another.

4. Block section of sites - Google search provides you to only search a section of the site, a section of the blog or full site - even non wordpresss section which is great for site like MWolk

5. Make More Money - You can Integrate Adsense with the search to make additional income for you when people uses search.

There are couple more advantages with using google search too like ability to track number of searches and clicks (for this you need to combine your adsense account with Google analytics)

By the way, you can still have adsense in wordpress default search for this you need to edit the theme files.
