Sometime, we get bulk of files say, images, text files or any other files, and need to rename those accordingly and by serial. Yes, with 3rd party software we can achieve this, but why to use those when we can do it simply in Windows? Yes, you can do this without installing any additional software and just by 2/3 clicks it can be done. Follow the steps mention bellow and you are done …

[1] First of all collect all files in a single folder

[2] Then simply select all files on that folder

[3] Now keeping all files selected, right click the first file and click rename

[4] Now simply put a name you like on the first file and press enter.

That’s all; you can see the magic in fractions of second. Remember few points while renaming files like this …

[1] Must use the number first serial number within ( ) else it wont work.

[2] While renaming, all characters before ( ) will remain same on rest of the files.

[3] Counting will start from the number you put inside the ( ), for example, if you write like ABC (5), next file will be ABC (6) and so on.

[4] It doesn’t support “0” before number. If you use (001) next file will be (2) in lieu of (002).

[5] Anything after ( ) will not be effected on rest files, so write any tags you want only before the ( ).
